Living with Chronic Pain and Feeling Misunderstood?
You’re not alone. I live with it too.
Notes from the Body is a personal blog about nervous system dysregulation, central sensitization and the real experience of chronic pain. I am Alina and I have created this space to share what made me stop blaming my body and start listening to it. Whether you are newly diagnosed or years into your journey, I hope my story helps you feel seen, understood and supported.

Why I Created This Blog
Once I had a diagnosis for the unexplained pain that took over my life, I had entered the world of chronic pain.
Among other facts, I found out that:
- 1.5 billion people around the world suffer from chronic pain
- the brain can create pain even when the body has healed
- chronic pain is one of the leading causes of depression and anxiety
By simple deduction:
- I was one of the 1.5 billion
- I should have been healed by now
- I knew one thing or two about fear
I remember how relieved I was when I first heard a woman sharing her experience; word by word, she was describing my struggle. Right then and there, I realized why it is so important to share my story. It might help someone feel seen.
So, I have created this space to share what I’ve learned from living with a chronic pain condition linked to central sensitization and nervous system dysregulation – condition that is often misunderstood and deeply affects both body and mind. I talk about the challenges that come with ongoing pain, not just physically but emotionally too. About how small steps, new perspectives and consistency have helped me regain some balance.
This blog is both a space for reflection and a practical resource. You will find personal stories, simple techniques that have helped me regulate my nervous system and insights that may help you navigate your own experience with more clarity and confidence. My goal is to offer something real, useful and reassuring, so that even on the hard days, you know you’re not alone.
